Backpack in Harriman State Park, NY on Sat 8/24 - Sun 8/25/2024
Meet: Harriman State Park
Route: TBD (less than 2 miles)
Event coordinator: Jackie
Cost: $30 (AFW members $20)
The 3rd backpack will be low key due to summer heat. We will meet around 9AM on Saturday and hike under 2 miles to a campsite, set up camp, and day hike in the area (with empty packs), or just relax depending on the temp. The following day, we will relax in the morning, maybe a short morning, have lunch, break camp and hike back to the cars.
Beginners – Please note that we suggest you DO NOT buy equipment with the exception of a sleeping bag if you want your own (the ones we lend come w/ liners). Tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads & backpacks are available on a 1st come 1st serve basis so let us know what you may need. If you do decide to buy some gear please check with the leaders before you buy. If you have any questions, please contact AFW or the hike leader.
